Speedway Grand Prix of Czech Rep. in Prague

A highly controversial decision made by the referee destroyed Andreas Jonsson's chances of winning tonight's SGP of Czech Republic...

Andreas was the best rider of the main part of the event. Scoring 13 points in his five races, AJ easily qualified for the semifinal. Everything had been going on perfectly for the AJ Racing team until that race. Both, the rider and his bike, seemed brilliantly prepared for this tournament.

Unfortunately, Andreas' great performance at the Marketa Stadium was brutally finished in the first semifinal. As a result of Tomasz Gollob's harsh attack, Andreas fell down and hit the fence. For some unknown reasons though, the Polish referee, Wojciech Grodzki, decided to exclude AJ. The decision was rather shocking and Andreas could not accept it ... It is a huge shame and disaster for the whole team because the chances to win tonight, or at least finish on the rostrum, were huge.

I am very frustrated because the ref's mistake destroyed everything we had been working on since the practice on Friday. The set-up we found then worked perfectly tonight. Everything was great until this disastrous semifinal. I can only hope these points lost today won't hang in the balance in the end. I can also be glad how my bikes are working now and how fast they are. We are not going to complain in our team about the ref's decision. It was just one of many SGP tournaments this year and everything is still possible in this season, isn't it?

Emil Sayfutdinov's crash was terrifying. I must admit, I have not seen such horrible hit for a long time. I wish my Bydgoszcz team mate a quick recovery and I hope he will be at the track as soon as possible.

I was mad after the Czech GP. Had a quick shower and went to sleep right after it. When I woke up though, I realised it was actually just one of eleven tournaments and nothing is lost yet, especially when my bikes are so well prepared.
