Rainy Sunday & memories from Gniezno
Another match of Polonia Bydgoszcz has been rained off! The meeting against Zielona Góra was supposed to start at 6 pm local time. The weather in Bydgoszcz was fine most of the day until... 5 pm.Heavy rain which started about one hour before the meeting left no chance for any racing today. This means Bydgoszcz have got to ride only 4 out of 8 matches so far ... Having so many meetings already postponed, finding a new date for today's match will definitely not be an easy task for the management of Polonia Bydgoszcz.
We can't ride today so I can only say a few words about yesterday's friendly tournament at Gniezno. First, I must admit it was it was perfectly organised meeting with a great line-up. The track was perfect as well and you could actually fight in any place round that track. Having such class riders as your rivals it's easy to lose points, even if you make tiny mistakes. I made a mistake in one race, lost it and missed points which would get me through to the final. But the sports result is only one of the memories I have from this tournament. I was really impressed but the atmosphere, I think it was a great idea to merge Polish historical traditions with speedway action!
