Speedway Grand Prix of Croatia in Gorican

It was a pretty unusual weekend in Croatia. While everyone was expecting a tough meeting in a Mediterranean heat, the organisers had to postpone the tournament for Sunday because of heavy rainfall!

Greg Hancock turned out to be the best rider in the first, historical Grand Prix tournament taking place in Croatia. Andreas scored 6 points and almost qualified for the semifinal. Despite bad luck in the draw and unfavourable gates, AJ didn't give up at any point and did his best fighting in every lap of every race.

However, Andreas was involved in a very dangerous situation in his fourth race while he sharply hit the back of Jason Crump's bike. Just before this accident the Australian rider slowed down significantly trying to roll the tape on his goggles. The collision could end really badly for both riders but neither Andreas nor Jason got injured. AJ has been complaining on some pain in his ankle but as it looks like, it's nothing serious. After the unfortunate race both riders apologised each other - Andreas knew it was too late to slow down or turn his bike into another direction but he also knew he hits the rear of his rival's bike. On the other hand, Jason was ahead of Andreas but he slowed down unexpectedly trying to sort out his dirty goggles.

It's really tight in the middle and lower part of the SGP table at the moment - says AJ - that's mostly because both Harris and Lindgren did very well today. I'm not giving up, though, it was another performance proving that my bikes are fast enough for the SGP level, as well as my skills. I just need to be a bit more lucky... I will be fighting till the end of this season and my fans can expect me to do my best in the next tournament, at Vojens!
